The GM Diet: Day One

Hey Everyone,

So yesterday was the first day of my GM (General Motors) diet and I lost 1.3 kgs in just a day! I am so motivated and all set to start my Day 2! Read below to know what I did on my first day of the GM Diet.

If you’re new here and have no idea what GM Diet is, you should read this article before reading this post.

Diet :

All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day. Especially watermelon and a loupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing three lbs. on first day are very good.

How it works :

You are preparing your system for the upcoming programme. Your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits. Fruits are nature’s perfect food. They offer everything you could possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.

Day One :

I started my day with a tall glass of water followed by few exercises at home. On days I can’t hit the GYM, I do some exercise at home. I start with 10 mins or spot jogging, 2 sets of Side Bend (1 set = 15 times), 2 sets of Ab Crunch, 2 sets of leg lifting, 3 sets of Squat, 2 sets of side kicks and 2 sets of back kick.

I am addicted to caffeine and I CAN NOT start my day without it in my veins. Lol! But really I had to start my day with a cup of TEA but I added just half the amount of sugar I usually take. I like to add some mint & basil leaves in my tea. Later during the day, I had a total of 2 Apples, 1 Orange, 1 glass of Orange Juice & Coconut Water. I am not a big water person and I forget to have water all the time. So I put a reminder on my phone which now goes on every hour to remind to have water. So ya that really helped me drinking lots of water during of the day.

I like fruits and I thought it really wouldn’t be that difficult to survive on fruits. I didn’t feel hungry throughout the day and even if I did, I ate fruits. However, I had a bad headache by evening and my body was really craving for anything but fruits. Even though I shouldn’t, I couldn’t help but had a cup of tea in the evening which really helped me with my headache. I felt a bit hungry before going to bed and my stomach was making those weird noises too but I went to the kitchen, had a tall glass of water and ended my day.

As soon as I woke up today, I checked my weight and couldn’t express my happiness when I saw 1.3 kgs less on the scale. Today is the second day and I don’t like VEGETABLES in any form. I think I am gonna end up starving myself today. 🙁 Will update you guys tomorrow.

If you’ve started or have done GM diet in the past, please share your experience on Day 1 below. It might really help others. 🙂

  2. Good going dear! It takes a lotta determination to do this. All the best !

  3. Sounds like a tough diet . Hope you achieve your goal 🙂

  4. i strongly suggest you add some salt to your diet… you don’t want electrolyte imbalance in your body, especially since you are a bride-to-be, which is a hectic job! all the best.. I’m trying cabbage soup diet from today… has salts and even a portion of meat on one day, and I’m not someone who can keep eating sweet fruits all day… so this diet suits my palate better:)

  5. I tried this diet twice and it played havoc with my mood :p. It does help u in losing weight(but not more than 3kgs for me) and I gained it back within the next 2-3 weeks..hope u have a better experience with it.. Good luck 🙂
