  1. Hostel hair spa in Rs. 20

    What do you need?

A comb (free, because you obviously own one!)
Hair oil (you can buy five small sachets worth Rs. 5 or use the big bottle like me, anyway it you won’t use a lot)
    A napkin (free)
    Some warm water (free)
And a sachet of dove shampoo and conditioner (Rs. 5)
    Egg (Rs. 5)
Yoghurt (Rs. 5 in my hostel)

How do you go about it?

First, heat some coconut oil till it is warm. Massage it on your head gently and let your blood circulate well. Next, take some warm water and dip a napkin in it. Place the napkin on your head for about 5 minutes and repeat this step a few times.

Relax for an hour or so till your hair has absorbed the oil

Apply a hair mask of egg whites (beaten) and half a bowl of yoghurt mixed well for about 30 minutes and then use Dove shampoo and conditioner to wash your hair.

Let your crowning glory dry naturally in the sun. (Hair dryers are a complete No!)

And since my hostel has a mini lake within the campus, I tend to steal a chair from the classroom and sit in the sun as I read my book!

I also want you to know that I have participated in giveaways on other blogs and have used the same answer. I regularly use this method and it really works for me. Please do tell me if it is all right. Thanks 🙂

  2. A hair spa at home is really convenient and a lovely way to unwind….not to mention easy on the pocket! The quickest way is to heat oil, massage it in, steam and rinse. The Lóreal spa treatment kit is also effective. Can’t wait to try the Dove one.

  3. oil and massage hair with almond oil. Almond oil has vitamin E and D which is said to nourish hair, make it long and thick, control hair fall and add shine and bounce to your hair. Massage the oil well into your scalp. I Leave on overnight or for about 1-2 hours.
Next step would be to lightly steam your hair. Use a small handy steam machine to do so for a good 5 minutes. Ensure that you don’t feel any steam on your scalp. If you steam your hair properly, you won’t feel anything on your scalp. dip a towel in hot water and wrap it around your h. Do this 4-5 times..The last step would be to apply a hair pack.Mix fresh aloe vera pulp with a few drops of lemon juice and leave on for 15 minutes

  4. The ingredients needed for preparing this hair oil are half cup each of olive oil and some rosemary leaves. Put them in a small saucepan and heat it at a low flame. Stir it continuously till the oil becomes warm. After that, remove it from the heat and strain out the rosemary leaves. The oil should be applied on the hair when it is still warm to the touch. Milk is a very good conditioner.Take some milk(preferably cold)and apply it with brush or using a spray bottle, comb your hair gently, wait for 30 minutes.Lightly wash your hair with mild or a baby shampoo.Do not use conditioner after shampoo as milk is a natural conditioner and leaves your hair

  5. A Hair Spa for me means pampering my hair inorder to bribe it to become how it used to be… I regularly used to straighten my hair and many times I wudn’t use a heat protectant as a result of which my hair has become very dry and thin… :'(

    I do a hair spa twice a week….
Once a week I follow this routine(on Wednesdays):
First I apply Biotique Bio Bhringraj Hair Oil… It has really worked wonders for my hair. I apply it to my hair by gently massaging it into the scalp so that it gets absorbed easily. I leave it on for about 2 hours.
After this I wash it off using Matrix biolage hydrating shampoo and then i apply Loreal 3X Fall Repair Hair Conditioner.I leave it on for around 10 mins after which i wash it off.Make sure to apply conditioner only to the roots and not to the scalp….

Saturday night my Hair Spa process is:
I first create a hair mask using 2 eggs (white only) and 4 tablespoons olive oil.I mix both the ingredients together and then apply them to my hair. After this I wrap my hair in a hair cap.I leave this mask on for about an hour during which i play my favorite music and relax(After all it is the weekend!! 😀 ). Then I wash off the mask with slightly warm water (dont use very hot water as this dries the hair). Then I wash my hair with my matrix biolage shampoo and apply the loreal conditioner.I leave the conditioner on for 10 mins then rinse it off with cold water.

And that is how i do my Hair Spa…. 😀

  6. Rinse hair with a mixture of two tablespoons vinegar to one cup water, or one-quarter cup of lemon juice and one cup of water.
Use an alcoholic drink to create a drying effect on the hair. Mix a few tablespoons of alcohol with a cup of water, use to cleanse hair, and then rinse with water.
One-quarter cup of cider vinegar mixed with water can be used to create a spray that targets product build up.
Use diluted tea, which contains an astringent, to rinse your hair.

  7. My Hair spa idea at home:I oil my hair as it helps in strengthening the roots and prevents hair fall .I mix coconut and olive for this and coat my entire hair with it.Gently massage hair for 10 minutes and shampoo my hair. After shampooing the hair I comb them and then apply hair pack or hair conditioner and wash off the pack .my simple hair spa treatment is done.

  8. . Massage your scalp: This is the first step to start a hair treatment at home. Warn some coconut oil or olive oil. Massage your head with this. This increases blood circulation and boosts hair growth.

    2. Steam the hair: Dip a towel in warm water and squeeze the excess water out. Wrap the towel around the hair. This allows the oil to penetrate deep into the scalp. Do this for about 5-six minutes.

    3. Wash your hair: Now, wash the hair with a mild shampoo. Use only cold water as hot water is harmful to the hair roots.

    4. Apply conditioner: Post the shampooing, use a conditioner. You can also use the water of tea leaves to which a few drops of lime juice has been added. Or try a paste of grated beetroot to which hibiscus powder has been added. The hibiscus flower powder is a great base and is rich in iron and other vitamins. Rinse it off after half an hour with just warm water and no shampoo.

    5. Lastly, a hair mask: In a bowl, mix two eggs, honey and some coconut oil. You can add a ripe banana to this — banana is a softener. You can also use olive oil instead of coconut oil. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes, then rinse with a mild shampoo.

  9. Step 1
Heat half a cup of extra virgin olive oil and let it cool. When the oil is still slightly warm, apply on scalp and hair. Overall oil massage of the scalp with fingertips with gentle circular motions. Make sure that you are not pulling your hair while massaging, as it can cause hair loss.

    Step 2
Next, soak a clean towel into a bucket of warm water. Squeeze the towel to remove water. Wrap a warm towel to the head, so the hair is covered by a towel. Leave the towel wrapped around his head for 10 to 15 minutes. This will help the oil get into the hair shaft.

    Step 3
After applying steam to the hair, the next step is to wash the hair with shampoo thoroughly. Choose a shampoo that suits your hair type and texture. Rinse hair with warm water.

    Step 4
Wipe off excess water in the hair. Make sure that you do not rub your hair with a towel. It can make the hair rough up the cuticle and contribute to frizziness.

Take a few deep conditioner and apply it on your hair, use a wide toothed comb. You can also use a natural conditioner that suits your hair type. With deep conditioning, you can protect your hair from frizziness. Leave the conditioner on your hair for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Step 5
Hair conditioner rinse to remove. Pat with a towel to dry and remove the water on the hair. Next, comb the hair using a wide-toothed comb. Apply a hair mask to each section of hair. Make sure that every hair is coated with a hair mask. Wrap your head with a warm towel for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash it off thoroughly with warm water.

  10. Hair spa at home means.. getting those luscious and silky soft hair with minimum effort..
I usually indulge myself in homemade hair pack.. either curd + lemon or Aloe vera massage.. both works absolutely amzingly and leave me with silky soft hair.. 🙂 🙂

  11. I apply Dove Elixir oil to my hair and I nicely massage my head, such that the oil reaches the roots of my hair. The next day morning, I apply the white yolk of egg to my hair. I leave it for about half-an-hour. After that, I take a refreshing head bath using Dove shampoo. This is how I do a hair-spa at home!

  12. As a mom to twin boys, I rarely have the time and patience to step out for any indulgence let alone a spa treatment! I love a head massage so much that I have a variety of hair oils that I use to pamper my tresses. Most oils that I use are warmed in a copper pot to not hamper the goodness of the oil and I use my fingertips to apply the warm oil and work up a massage that makes me relax, ( Ideally I would love it of someone gives me a massage!)

I let the oil stay in overnight because it nourishes my hair. The next morning I apply a hair pack and wash my hair with a light paraben and sls free shampoo and conditioner, I love my hair and would give it nothing but the best, so I avoid using multiple products and I stick to those 3-4 products that my hair totally loves!

  13. My ideal hairspa =
I Apply olive oil mixed with castor oil and wrap my hair with a towel soaked in hot water.
Then I wash and condition my hair and apply a deep conditiong mask and rinse.
Follow up with Dove Elixir for beautiful tresses.

  14. Havn’t ever tried hair spa or some kind of special treatment at home.
But will love to try with this beautiful Dove Elixir 🙂

  15. Whenever I treat my hair, I leave in a deep conditioner for several hours and rinse.

  16. I have completed all steps but dont have twitter account.
coming to hair spa, i frst apply oil by taking it in a bowl about half bowl, takw a cotton n dip n apply it all over the scalp cos massaging damages hair n invitez hair fall..n den apply rest oil2all tha hair downwards taking some flicks…i leave whole night or 2hrs.
Den i beat an egg n apply it over the head.egg is a natural conditioner..keep it an hr.
Then wash all the hair with warm water n take hair steamer n im done…
after drying i use the thick comb n start combing first down hair so that the tangles are normally situated downwards n when we remove tangles dis way no need to comb the upper hair..

This way i do hair spa
    ..

  18. My idea of doing hair spa at home is

Step 1: Put on soft music and aroma candles at one part of the room and sit in a relaxing position.
Step 2: Massage your scalp . Massage head with coconut oil for 15-20 minutes. Massage softly with your fingertips as it increases blood circulation and helps increase hair growth.
Step 3: Steam warm hair. Dip a towel or cotton cloth in warm water and squeeze it to remove excess water. Wrap this towel around your head covering all the oiled hair for around 10 mins
Step 4: Wash your hair and apply conditioner on it.
Step 5: Apply a mixture of banana, honey, yogurt and olive oil as it can do wonders to your hair. Till now u will be fully relaxed and hurray….hair spa at home is done….

  19. Since we all know, that the 3 steps for good hair spa is Oiling,Conditioning and last but not the least is Mask…
#For oiling, i personally use a mixture of olive oil, almond oil , coconut oil, and ghee. Warm these oils. When I heated the mixture and made it warm enough to touch without burning. I took it with my fingers and distributed evenly into my hair strands concentrating on the scalp and massaging it well with the help of my mother and leave it for around 1.5 hrs..
#Next washing my hair with a mild shampoo and let the hair dry naturally without blower etc..
#For Conditioning,i use the tea decoction as well as little mehndi and mix it well.Allow some time for rest to the mixture. Then apply it on my hair as the mixture will intensify the colour of my hair and at the same time will condition it. Then after half an hour rinse it only with luke warm water (no shampoo).
#The next and final procedure is the mask for hair..For it ,i use a ripe banana, 1/4 cup of milk, 3 table-spoons of honey and egg white from 2 eggs.and make a puree of them in a blender. Applied the mask all over my hair and covered it with a shower cap, waited for half an hour and rinsed it and then finally washed the hair with shampoo to get the oil out…
Finally the hair spa is done at home with all natural ingredients which will nourish my hair and with no side effects…
Hope u like it and may i won this beautiful hamper of Dove Elixir and next time enjoy my hair spa with it..
will be waiting to win it…Makeupbyhina.com…..

  25. Hey Hina,

Love those giveaway hampers! Their sight itself is so tempting and relaxing! 😀

Well, my idea of a hair spa would be at no other place than home sweet home – the best place to get pampered!

This idea is executed by my mom! She believes that all the ingredients for a relaxing hair spa are present in the kitchen itself! She dims the light and massages my head and scalp with hot essential oils mixed or sometimes with Aloe gel. Later, ties a towel soaked in hot water to my hair. What follows is shampooing and combing with a large toothed comb.
As my hair are dry, we use a hair mask of egg with one teaspoon coconut oil mixed with honey as a natural conditioner. The last step is using a hair tonic/serum for those luscious locks we all wish for!

My mom feels it is absolutely necessary to regain the moisture and luster which is otherwise lost due to pollution. Her spa treatment releases me of all the stress and helps me unwind. It is the best treatment for hair loss and split ends too. No spa can be ever better than a mother’s lap! isn’t it? 🙂 I barely realize how time flies, as I sometimes even fall asleep in her lap.
At the end, I’m left with bouncy, shiny hair! *my proud moment* Hair spas never leave you disappointed. We all deserve to be treated as queens 😉

  26. I have super duper dry and frizzy hairs. My idea of doing hair spa is:
    1. At first, i mix vitamin e capsules with almond oil and then apply it on my scalp completely. I then leave it for 2 hours.
    2. second is the steaming step. As i don’t have a steamer, i wrap hotel towel around my head and repeat this step 3 times for proper steaming.
    3. the final step is to apply hair pack. I use home made packs only and for that i mix… egg, honey, curd and lemon juice. This hair pack keeps my frizzy hair under control and the honey moisturizes my dry hair.

  27. This giveaway looks ravishing Heena…
My idea of hair spa at home is oiling my hair with castor n olive oil. Leaving it overnight
    2. Next day I apply a paste of curd, amla , hibiscus flower to entire hair section by section for 45 mins.
    3. Shampoo , voila no need to use conditioner as paste of curd n ol controls hairfall, frizzy hair.. reult smooth n silky hair

  28. Thanks a lot for the giveaway

My idea of hair pampering @ home

I pretty much every three weeks, do a home hair spa…
    Steps that I follow
1)make my hair tangle free and apply (almond oil + 8 drops of rose mary essential oil). leave it for like 1 hours giving gentle massage to hair
    2) dip towel in hotwater, rinse it and wrap all of your hair onto it…sit aside for 2 hours or something
2)wash off using luke Warm water + Apple cider Vinegar solution…; Use any sulphate free shampoo if you don’t want oily hair…
3)spray on (rosemary essential oil + luke warm water ) this home made conditioner…
repeat this every three weeks for healthy hair 🙂

  29. MY HOME HAIR SPA IDEA:
Every Sunday(IN winters) is my spa day.. And really I want a proper environment and time. Spa is useless if you are not feeling relaxed after it.
    1. I just dim lights of the room and spray my favourite room freshner.
    2. Then I sit on a chair and request my grand maa to oil my hairs. She is the best when comes to hair massage, I don’t know what magic she has in Her hands I just love it.
I prefer a mix of olive, coconut oil and few drops of badam rogan in winters. And trust me the results are always magical.
    3. Then I steam my hair with a steamer or for about 10 mins. I usually add few drops of lavender oil in steamer.
    4. Then I relax for 2 hours to let hairs absorb the oil. In the mean time I listen to my favourite songs or read a magazine or cook something delicious.
    4. Then after 2 hours I wash my hairs with anti-dandruff shampoo and warm water. Conditioning, a most important step after it.
    5. Then I apply hair mask.
Hair mask- 1 egg, 2 spoons of yogurt and honey each.
Then cover it with a shower cap and let it rest for 1 hour.
Then I rinse off and flaunt my beautiful, silky and smooth hairs.

I AM REALLY EYEING UPON THIS HAMPER.. IT WILL FOR SURE TAKE MY SPA ON ANOTHER LEVEL.. HOPE I CAN NEXT TIME PAMPER MY TRESSES WITH IT..

  30. wohoooooo …. Lovely Giveaway …every girls loves to get pampered *-*

Hair Olive Oil Deep Hair Conditioning Mask:

Beat two eggs (three for long hair) and add in three tablespoons of olive oil. Add your favorite essential oils for fragrance (optional.) Apply a liberal amount to hair from root to tip. Wrap hair in warm towel and rest for about 30 minutes. After you rinse, you will notice how soft, shiny and manageable your hair will be.

  32. Hi Hina,

I pamper my hair a lot and wish to have long hair so I take care of them very regularly. I usually follow a hair care regime to pamper them, first, in night I apply oil in my hair and massage the scalp so that oil should reach the scalp and roots of my hair and nourish them, after oiling my hair, I tie scarf and sleep well, in morning I apply a shampoo and conditioner and wash my hair with water and then I apply a mixture in my hair, in a bowl I take around half cup of curd and in it I add a little mustard oil and whisk in well and after washing my hair with shampoo I apply this mixture in my hair and massage it properly and then gently wash it off with water and tie around a towel in wet hair and comb them properly and taaddddaaaa hair spa is done…

Also, occasionally I also put beaten eggs or shikakai and amla, for shikakai and amla I soak these in water overnight and then in morning after washing hair with shampoo and conditioner, I put the shikakai and amla soaked water in my hair and rinse it throughly, I use shikkakai in summer to give coolness to scalp but it
can be used in winters too like at once a week…Believe me, after using shikakai and amla hair gets soft, smoother and shikakai has a cooling effect on scalp and I feel that I am pampering my hair just like they get pampered in a hair spa 🙂

  33. As I am a lazy girl.I don’t pamper my hair much.I just used Almond Oil or Sometime Mix Castor Oil & Almond Oil,Apply it at Night and leave it for whole night and then rinse it with mild Shampoo & Conditioner.I follow this once or twice in a week.

  34. I love doing Olive Oil Deep Hair Conditioning hair-spa at home. Beat two eggs and add in three tablespoons of olive oil. Apply a liberal amount to hair from root to tip. Wrap hair in warm towel and rest for about 30 minutes. And tadaa :))
